I love having books around that offer my toddler's curious mind both new information, as well as a reflection of her own unique life and family. We are a blended family with a myriad of friends and family from a wide range of experiences, abilities, cultures, and countries. On our bookshelves you will find books that reflect that love of diversity.
If you are looking for children's books that reflect an important part of your life and express your appreciation for the art and joy of babywearing, give these two a try.
The Backpack Baby Series follows a young child as he rides along with his father in his backpack, learning all the important things a toddler must learn, like sharing, caring, and being polite. Another we like is A Ride on Mother's Back, so vividly illustrated that my toddler loves pointing to and telling me about all the neat things that happen in daily village life, from cooking, to washing, to gathering food. We both love seeing the babies nurse in the sling and take part in their family's work and play.
If you have more fun children's books with a babywearing theme, I'd love to hear about them!
As if reading about babywearing wasn't enough, your kid wants to wear his baby like you! Check out these adorable doll carriers at Attached to Baby! And if you have a cute story about your babywearing baby, send it in and I'll post it.
